In the 1970's, people began a party trend known as a rave, or acid house party which includes music, dark lighting and crazy, colorful lighting effects. Glow sticks, laser lighting and strobe lights are used to create multi colored light image shows that tend to mesmerize the party goers while they dance the night away. Usually the music selection heard at these massive organizations will follow the night club, techno or trance genre. If you have ever been to such an event, you already have a good idea of what it is all about and if you have not yet experienced this scene but are considering it, you may want to invest in some rave gear first.
Typically, rave gear involves your clothes, your shoes, jewelry and props. Props are anything from light up or glow in the dark gloves to hand held flashing wands with colorful flags on the end. Lighted hand held props are used while dancing to whip around in a rhythmic motion, generally to the beat of the music. Such items can be found online, at party supply stores and adult novelty shops. As for the jewelry and accessories, this can be anything brightly colored, shiny, and glittery, glow in the dark, animated or lit up. With such a broad range of options and a vague description, you could make virtually anything fitting for a rave party if you really put your mind to it.
In today's society, wearing rave gear is looked at with the stereo type that you do drugs and are out of control. In all honesty the original culture from which these parties stemmed is strongly devoted to peace, love and unity. Drug use is unfortunately, a common occurrence at these types of parties but does not mean by any notion that a "raver" should be assumed as a worthless or violent druggie. Much like any other stereotype in our world, some things may have some truth to them but should not affect an over all opinion of a situation.
To this day rave gear is seen all over the world, as people are attending such events more and more and in turn wear their new styles any time they see fit. There are so many different cultures on this planet and this is just a brief conclusion of the rave world.
